Celebrating Commit-Boost’s Journey Towards Mainnet
Eigen Labs is excited to announce that Commit-Boost, an open-source public good that we have proudly supported since its inception, is moving towards audit and production on the Ethereum mainnet. This milestone, and the community now behind it, marks a significant step forward in ensuring the healthy growth of the proposer commitment vertical without adding complexity to Ethereum’s core protocol development.
We expect a Cambrian explosion of different proposer commitment AVSs to be built in the next year, increasing Ethereum validator rewards.

Why Eigen Labs Supported Commit-Boost from the Beginning
We have been excited about proposer commitment since the inception of the EigenLayer protocol. In one of our earliest talks, we discussed EigenLayer’s potential in the proposer commitment space. At the same time, we recognized the risks associated with an expansive proposer commitment vertical, specifically around sidecar fragmentation.
The consequence of this fragmentation is two-fold: it compromises the security integrity of the entire network through fragmented implementations and exponentially inflates the burden on our core developers tasked with executing/testing major network upgrades.
This is why we are excited about Commit-Boost. We recognized the potential of Commit-Boost to enhance the Ethereum ecosystem by reducing fragmentation risks and giving validators greater autonomy over block construction. By standardizing how conditions and constraints are communicated, Commit-Boost acts as a unifying sidecar that not only streamlines operations for validators but also introduces additional transparency and safety checks.
This is a game changer.
Commit-Boost’s Progress
Over the past few months, Commit-Boost has evolved tremendously thanks to the collaborative efforts of over 70 teams and numerous individual contributors within the Ethereum community. Key achievements include:
- Successful Testing: Commit-Boost has been rigorously tested on the Holesky testnet with hundreds of thousands of validators, incorporating feedback and making iterative improvements
- Community Engagement: Regular community calls moderated by industry experts have fostered open dialogue, feedback, and collaboration among developers, validators, and researchers
- Feature Development: The introduction of novel features that decrease operational risks for validators, such as enhanced safety tools and improved efficiency compared to current market standards
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the teams, individuals, and contributors who have dedicated their time and expertise to reach this important milestone.
Excitement for the Future
As Commit-Boost moves toward mainnet deployment, we’re excited about the possibilities it brings for validators, stakers, operators, and the broader Ethereum community. The initial focus on enhancing proposer-builder separation (PBS) compatibility promises to improve block construction processes and validator autonomy.
We anticipate the development of additional modules in the coming months, enabling validators to implement more conditions and constraints around how blocks are packed. This advancement not only supports Ethereum-aligned initiatives but also opens the door for higher rewards and increased network security.
Join Us in Supporting Commit-Boost
We remain committed to the ongoing development and success of Commit-Boost and encourage others to get involved. Whether you’re a validator, operator, developer, or enthusiast, your participation can make a significant impact. Opportunities to contribute include:
- Feedback: Engage with the software on testnets and provide valuable insights
- Development: Contribute code, review pull requests, or develop new modules
- Outreach: Help spread the word and educate others about the benefits of Commit-Boost
Together, we can support this transformative initiative and look forward to a more robust and decentralized Ethereum network.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. We are excited for what is ahead and invite you to join us in shaping the future of Ethereum!
